Tips for Spending Labor Day Weekend on the Outer Banks
For Families
In the late summer months, temperatures in the Outer Banks dip down into the 70s and low 80s, with bright, sunny days that are tempered by gentle breezes. These mild temps make it easy to enjoy your favorite family activities without overheating. Take the kids to the water park, reserve your spot on a dolphin tour, or challenge your group to a round of mini-golf. You can even plan to have a BBQ at your vacation rental. Of course, we believe that after-dinner ice cream cones are mandatory during the last days of summer.

Avon Farmers Market – Shop locally made goods and fresh-grown produce when you visit this staple market in Avon. Find the perfect ingredients for a signature dish you can cook up in your Paramount Destinations vacation rental, or grab some unique OBX souvenirs.

Labor Day Weekend Bash – Join Kitty Hawk Kites in Rodanthe at their Waves Village Kiteboarding School for a day of music, food, shopping, and kiting! Details for 2025 haven’t been released yet, but you can expect excellent entertainment, deep discounts on shop merch, awesome product demos, and more!
