March can still be quite cool in the Outer Banks. Expect temperatures to hover in the mid-50s during the day and the mid-40s at night. Pack layers of long-sleeved shirts, jackets, and hats, as well as some close-toed shoes, so you can still enjoy walking the beach or hiking at nearby parks and trails.
