Understanding the Types of EV Chargers
There are three levels of EV chargers: 1, 2, and 3. The difference between each is the speed with which they charge your vehicle; usually level 2 or level 3 provide the fastest charging times. A level 2 can charge your car in 4-10 hours, and a DC (direct current) level 3 can provide up to an 80% charge in approximately 20 minutes. Level 1 can use an 120V outlet but it is the slowest charging speed and it may take 10-12 hours or longer.
