Glazin' Go Nuts, a paint-your-own-pottery studio, is a favorite place for kids and adults to spend a creative afternoon. Studio time costs $7.00 per painter for the day. It takes about three or four days for the turnover. The studio will ship your works to you if you go home before then. Next door is a sister shop called Garden of Beadin'. It is a full-line bead store with glass, semiprecious stones, and unique specialty beads. The Garden is open year-round, and classes are held in the summer months. Call for days and times.

"Commedia Pied Piper with the Tarradiddle Players"

In 1842, Robert Browning wrote a beautiful poem about the legend of a mysterious piper who used his mesmerizing music to rid a town of rats. But when the greedy town leaders refused to pay the piper for his services, he used the same skill to lure away all the town’s children. This is not that story. Well, not exactly that story. Told in the zany slapstick style of Commedia dell’arte, this is the Pied Piper of Hamelin like you have never seen him before. The show is free to general admission ticket holders and Friends of Elizabeth II.All guests must have a ticket. July 15-18, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in the Film Theatre
Like a tyrannical two-year-old, the Emperor of China is never happy unless he gets his way. He insists on having the best and most of everything … the best gardens, the best robes, the best music … even the best marbles. Yet all the extravagant riches he collects leave him feeling empty, until he meets a plain brown nightingale whose simple, lyrical song strikes a silent chord deep inside his heart. Will the Emperor learn anything from the sweetness of the nightingale’s song? Or will his greed destroy the one thing that can make him truly happy? Adapted from the elegant fable by Hans Christian Andersen, this beautiful tale from the orient invites the audience to become part of a wonderful journey of discovery. A question and answer will follow the performance. All guests must have a ticket. Corolla Surf Shop
We want to offer a safe, informative and fun surf class. Summer surf on the Outer Banks, especially in Corolla, is probably among the safest areas to learn surfing... Long flat sandbars make it easy for both the student and instructors to walk the surfboard out into the ocean. Corolla was rated by Outside Magazine June 2006 Edition as one of 6 best destinations in the US to learn how to surf. For 2006 we are adding a new course called Advanced Beginner. This course is for the surfer who has already taken a lesson with Corolla Surf School and is already proficient in the safety aspects of surfing. The course will start with a 10 minute review of all safety procedures. All of our instructors are CPR trained by Corolla Fire & Rescue at the beginning of each season.
